About Us

The Pitt News is the daily student newspaper of the University of Pittsburgh. Serving the Pitt community since 1910, The Pitt News now circulates 14,000 issues per day, five days per week during the school year and once per week in the summer.

Financially independent from the university, The Pitt News is funded by advertising revenue generated by its business staff composed entirely of students.

More than 9 out of 10 Pitt students pick up a Pitt News each day, according to an independent market survey. The Pitt News has received national recognition from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and the Associated Collegiate Press, among other institutions.

The editorial staff and business staff of The Pitt News are separately staffed. Click here for contact information for both departments.
